6 Shades of Mari

I’ve never really talked about the 50 Shades of Grey phenomena, though certainly I’d have to live under a rock not to know about this book and its impact on erotic romance. I’ll confess that I haven’t read any of the series. I’ve heard mixed reviews–some good, some bad–so I suppose I’m hesitant to go there, simply because my Kindle is loaded with unread books by authors I love. When I manage to squeeze in reading time, I find myself falling back on my own list of tried and true authors.
I’ve seen many, many lists from various sources that use the old “Read 50 Shades? Now try this.” Heck, I’ve created tons of these lists in my high school library for kids who are always looking for something like “A Child Called It” or “Twilight” or “Perfect Chemistry.”
So today, for fun, I thought I’d throw my own hat in the 50 Shades ring with something I’m calling 6 Shades of Mari. What the heck. Here are some of my books which have a BDSM theme. So…if you liked 50 Shades, maybe you’ll enjoy these too.
Sugar and Spice

Ginny’s thirtieth birthday is shaping up to be the worst ever, until her best friend, Ryan, takes her to the Way Down Under, a new sex club she’s been dying to visit. Too bad Ryan refuses to let her see anything but the club’s tasteful bar.

Sneaking off to explore, Ginny is busted by Ryan in the Voyeur Room. But instead of taking her home, Ryan intends to teach her a lesson—and immediately commands her to strip. Stunned, Ginny obeys, and embarks on a night unlike any other. She’s brought to orgasm in front of strangers, bound to a bed, endures hours of sexual ecstasy and made to succumb to other intense urges—all by her best friend.

After hiding from Ryan the rest of the weekend—resulting in delicious punishment in his office on Monday—Ginny discovers emotions in their lifelong friendship that may have been there all along. She doesn’t know if she can convince Ryan of the same…but a bit of “sweet” bondage might help.

Come Monday

Monday’s child is fair of face…

After the death of her mother years prior, Keira Collins willingly put aside her dreams to become a surrogate parent to her six younger brothers and sisters. At twenty-seven, she’s finally pursuing a college degree. Between classes, working at the family pub and still tending to siblings, she’s no time for romance. So why is she spending all her rare free time fantasizing about hot Professor Wallace bending her over his desk?

Will Wallace recognizes Keira’s unfulfilled desires, her habit of hiding her beauty, her obsessive need for control in every aspect of her life. But Will has needs of his own—and they run far darker than Keira’s. As he initiates her into his lifestyle, offering sweet punishments and sweeter rewards, Will’s sexual authority slowly strips away some of her precious control. Black Jack

When pirate Black Jack captures a ship at sea, he considers the territorial governor’s haughty daughter part of the spoils of war. Tying the fiery beauty to his bed, Jack claims Emma as his…over and over again.

Jack has a secret. One he’s kept hidden from his best friend Emma. When she calls in a favor, asking Jack to perform in a pirate fetish fantasy at the nightclub she manages, Emma inadvertently opens Pandora’s box—for both of them. As portraying a dominant pirate forces more of Jack’s dark desires to light, Emma finds herself enmeshed in sensual explorations of BDSM, wax play, bondage and sex in public that leave her questioning her vanilla existence.

When one more heated interlude on the stage finds her submitting to Jack, Emma suspects she’ll never find her way back to her simple missionary lifestyle. But with Jack in control…she’s not sure she wants to.

Rough Cut

When the screen fades to black, all that remains is love.

Ty Ransome. Reigning king of Hollywood, producer, actor, Look Magazine’s Hottest Man Alive. He has it all—until he reads a book of short stories that touches him in places kept carefully hidden from the tabloid gossip mill. There’s only one way to meet the introverted writer—invite her to Tinsel Town to work on a script. The moment he sees her, he realizes why her work haunts him. There’s something missing in his life, and it’s her.

Gwen steps off the plane with reservations. For one thing, her darkly sexual stories are hardly movie material. Then there’s Ty’s reputation as a ladies’ man. Yet she’s won over by his charm and agrees to stay on for a week to get to know him before making her decision. And as the days go by, she discovers there’s far more to Ty than a handsome face.

They eat, drink and breathe the characters in their screenplay, re-enacting scenes that delve into the BDSM realm, setting Ty free to unleash his powerful cravings and exposing Gwen’s deepest needs. Needs she set free on paper…but is not sure she’s ready to make a reality.

Warning: This title contains all the following Tinsel Town essentials: explicit sex on a movie set, anal play in a mansion, BDSM with a hot movie star, capture fantasies while writing a screenplay, bondage in a limo, and, oh yeah, some graphic language—sorry about that.

Jon Walker and Night Thomas lived their childhood in a cult. They embraced the lifestyle, and it was there that they were trained as BDSM Masters. Only when the cult was infiltrated by undercover agent Reilly did the boys learn of the cult’s seedy underside, and help to destroy it.

Nearly fifteen years later, Jon’s job as a high school teacher—and his lust for the school’s gorgeous secretary, Carly—bring him close to the normal life he’s always craved. Just when that life is within his grasp, Reilly returns. An incarnation of the cult has resurfaced with Jon’s evil mother at the helm, and Reilly wants Jon and Night to go undercover to stop Cassandra Walker once and for all.

Shocked by his mother’s return and his BDSM past come back to haunt him, Jon is terrified of Carly discovering his dark secrets. Including the darkest of all—his complex relationship with Night, and his unrelenting urge to share Carly with his best friend.
