Co-writing Craziness!

On February 19, Winter’s Thaw will release. This book is the first in a new four-book series I’m collaborating with Jayne Rylon on. It’s a continuation of our Compass Brothers books. This time around, we’re hearing from the girls.
In the Compass Girls, Silas, Seth, Sam and Sawyer have found their happily ever after with Leah, Jody, Cindi and Leah…and wouldn’t you know it, life decided it would be funny to saddle them with headstrong, beautiful, independent daughters. Jayne and I are having a blast returning to Compton Pass. It’s a very sad thing to see a series end. With the release of Western Ties, there was a bittersweet moment when I thought, “Damn. It’s over.” Well, as luck would have it, Jayne and I are tenacious bitches who never say die. While rooming together at Romantic Times last spring, we came up with the idea for a new generation of Compton’s.
Winter’s Thaw will introduce the four cousins and focus on Sienna, Seth’s oldest child and only daughter as she struggles with her first broken heart. Here’s a sneak peek of the rough draft of the book’s blurb.Sometimes life doesn’t go according to plan. Sometimes it’s better.

Sienna Compton has it all figured out. Her life’s goals are set and it is all systems go. At least, it was. Until her long-time boyfriend Josh threw a ringer into the master plan, requesting a “break” from their relationship. Now she’s left alone during the long, cold Wyoming winter, questioning what her heart has always believed to be true love.

Daniel Lennon is facing an uncertain future. When a tragic accident leaves him unable to pursue his career as a professional bull rider, he finds himself at Compass Ranch, working to help Sienna’s father, Seth, build his horse breeding business. One look at Sienna has Daniel envisioning things he never imagined wanting—a permanent home, love, marriage—and he’s willing to use all the red hot tricks in his sexual arsenal to melt the ice surrounding Sienna’s broken heart.

When lust turns to genuine emotion, can Daniel convince Sienna to take a chance on something different and unexpected? Can he persuade her to consider a new path, one that will lead her directly to his arms…forever?

Warning: Roping and riding, past and future, cold winter and fiery desire, lust and love all come together in this new Compass series. Saddle up and hang on. The Comptons are back!

And then…there’s the Lexxie/Mari collaboration. LOL. Lexxie and I just recently finished and submitted the final two books in our Foreign Affairs series, Misplaced Lessons and Misplaced Hands. We discovered with each consecutive book the stories seemed to get hotter and hotter on the Sexy Scale. Let’s just say these next two stories run the risk of leaving readers sunburned!
Once again…wires have been crossed and the Aussie/American connections are put through the ringer. When Farpoint Creek’s schoolteacher, Amy Wesson befriends Chicago teacher, Harper Shaw on an online teacher blog, their professional relationship soon blossoms into genuine friendship. They decide after many months of sharing stories, dreams and even a few fantasies that they want to do a “life swap.” Amy, desperate to get out of Oz, travels to Chicago to explore a big American city, while Harper’s excited to experience life on an Australian cattle station.
However, these things never go smoothly. When Harper’s overprotective brother, Andrew, comes home unexpectedly and finds Amy sleeping in his bed, a case of mistaken identity soon turns into a sex-filled night neither Amy nor Andrew will soon forget. Meanwhile, Harper is struggling to cope with a misunderstanding of her own as she’s fallen deep in lust with two red-hot jackaroos on Farpoint Creek. Problem is they’re gay. Or are they?
It’s never a dull moment when writing with Lexxie and it’s safe to say that in addition to the hot sex scenes, these books also contain lots of laughter!
And finally…there may be one more collaboration on the horizon between me and Lila Dubois, but I’m going to keep those details a secret for just a little longer.
