Reading

Okay…I LOVE to read. No surprise there. I think we all do. Today I’m going to share not only one of my favorite stories, but the sequel that just came out. And what a sequel it is. You might have heard me talk about this story.

Let me tell you how I found this story. One day I was on the Loose Id site. I saw this cover and kept coming back to it. I’m like…I HAVE to have it. I was going to wait for payday, but I read the blurb. I’m like…man I need to read this. Then I read an excerpt and bought it right then and there. This played out on Jan’s blog. I’m sure she thought I was a nut. I’ve come to know Jan a little after reading this story and she is one talented lady. I love her stories and you should really check her out. If you take a close look at my story Magnus’ cover you’ll see it has the same feel as The Janitor. I love this cover so much that I add it to my cover artist form as the look I wanted.

Then she wrote a sequel and man is it ever good! Jan rocks. She rocks so much that she agreed to answer a few questions for me and I thought I’d share!

1. Boxers, Briefs, Boxer Briefs or commando – which do you prefer on your men? I have a thing for silky boxers with unexpected patterns on macho men, like teddy bears or planets.
2.  What’s your favorite color? Purple is my favorite
3.  If you had a goldfish, what would you name it? I don’t have a goldfish but I have a beautiful Siamese fighting fish who is named Sahara Blue, after one of my characters. He’s blue with white moon fins.
4.  Are you a fan of Shirley Temple? The drink or the actress you pick. I do drink Shirley Temples, yes
5. Cane – sexy or not? I see a cane the way Dane does, that some people can be beautiful no matter how life hits them. Noel reminds me of a Bonsai tree, he is strong.
6.  What is the first song you think of when you think…The Janitor. How about The Boxer? The Janitor is definitely Elton John’s ‘Your Song.’ I think it played in Boxer too. That is Dane’s song to Noel.
7.  Can Dane come visit me? Noel can come too. (Man, there is one scene in the Boxer in a spa, I wish I was there too.) Someone said recently they wish Dane was their neighbor! The spa was inspired by this incredible place I saw in a travel magazine in India.
8.  Who can we look forward in seeing in The Fighter? The Fighter focuses on Ross Moore, a man who desperately needs Dane and Noel’s help in healing–he can’t bear for anyone to touch him as the story opens! He finds himself in the ring as Dane’s fighter and he meets a shy Japanese-American man but the story will also present a new challenge for Dane and Noel–a lost baby!
9.  What book have you re-read the most? I like to reread parts of Janitor sometimes. Kind of scenes that still move me. It’s especially important before I do more in the series.
10.  If The Contender series was made into a movie who could you see playing Dane and Noel? He has blue eyes and not quite the build but what leaped to mind for Dane was Ian Somerhalder. I think the actor would have the range to telegraph a lot of what Dane feels on his face, which is important. Noel would be harder. I could see a really great British actor playing him (but with an American upperclass accent).

So here is a picture of Ian Somerhalder for Dane and I found this guy that might make a good Noel, Hugh Dancy.

The dog is what did it for me in this picture. It’s so Dane.

I’ve seen this guy in a couple things and think he could really pull off Noel. 🙂

So..what is the big thing going on? Well…Jan has agreed to give away a copy of The Janitor to one lucky winner and I am going to give away a copy of The Janitor of if you have that one I’ll give away a copy of The Boxer. Just leave a comment on this post and I’ll announce the winner Tuesday. In your comment please tell me which ebook you would like.

If you would like to find out more about Jan’s work here are a couple links.

You don’t know what you’re missing. You really don’t. Jan really does rock and The Janitor is different than your normal romance and that makes it outstanding. 😀

  3. Okay Jambrea, you’ve convinced me to try this. The covers are beautiful, but the idea of boxing didn’t pull me in (my children say I am violent about non-violence), but with you vouching for it, I’m ready to try it.

    • jambrea Says:

Well…Noel isn’t too happy about the boxing either, but you’ll just fall in love with Dane. I really think you will. He is such a different character and you can’t help but love the guy.

  4. Cynthia Osborne Says:

Well I have to try my luck Jammy Jo so please put me in the hat. Please!! And considering I haven’t read her we will try for The Janitor.

  5. I haven’t read either of them, so I guess I should start from the beginning, hmm? 🙂

    • jambrea Says:

You could read The Boxer with out reading The Janitor, but you don’t get the full Dane affect if you do that. You just want to cuddle and protect Dane. Or has Dane would say…my man Dane. heehee Good luck Chris!

I think Dane would be so wonderful with a baby!! I want to re-read The Janitor before starting The Boxer, so I’d love to win a copy of Boxer and thinking positively and maybe a little presumptuously (LOL) – we can call it the power of positive thinking – I’d love to find a pdf file in my in box!!
