Let’s Get This Party Started! – Jayne

Happy Sunday everyone!  You’re in trouble now, it’s my week to keep the Meet the Heat party going.  I’ll do my best to be a good host.  You know, a week-long contest, pictures of hot guys, never before excerpts from upcoming releases and maybe even a big announcement or two (ahem… come back on Wednesday for that one).  Comment on any and all posts this week to be entered in the drawing.

I like to eat dessert before dinner so lets talk about prizes first 🙂  I’ve assembled a goody bag for this week’s winner that includes a personalized autographed copy of Dream Machine, a pack of Ellora’s Cave collector cards, a Jayne Rylon t-shirt (sizes M-XXL available), a $25 gift certificate to Bath and Body Works, an assortment of other little goodies and, of course, no prize pack of mine would be complete without some candy!

I’ll let this guy pick the winner on Saturday so get on his good side for some extra good luck!  Let me know if you have any special requests for the party, too.  In the meantime, I’m going to kick things off with a never before seen excerpt from my Exotika quickie, Through My Window, which is coming soon from Ellora’s Cave.

The story is centered around Star, a prostitute in Amsterdam’s red light district.  I was fascinated with the “windows” and the women on display when my husband and I visited the city last year.  I’m hoping to feature Star in a series of quickies that give us glimpses into her life along the way.  What do you think?  I will say the story has a f/f/m scene in it, a first for me.  Do you all read them?  Like them?  Stay away from them?

Through My Window

Through my window, a sea of strangers swirl and retreat like waves in an ocean of humanity. I brush my hair, fix my makeup and flip on the glaring red light in my booth before turning to face my audience on the other side of the glass.

For Star, this is just another night on the job, though no two are ever alike. She loves her career and excels at bringing her customers pleasure, relief or intimacy. Adaptable and perceptive, she becomes many things in the course of one evening–whore, lover, nurse, psychologist and friend. But above all, she’s still a woman. And her customers change her with every encounter. Through her window, she observes the world and enhances it when it spills into her realm.

Through my window, a sea of strangers swirl and retreat like waves in an ocean of humanity. I brush my hair, fix my makeup and flip on the glaring red light in my booth before turning to face them on the other side of the glass.

They begin each evening like still waters. Ebbing and flowing past my window. Unaffected by buffeting winds or brewing desires. Eddying in swirls as they gather, peek around our infamous district with downcast eyes, then scatter—awkward and unsure, yet inquisitive.

Curious couples setting out tandem adventures, young men high on the moral freedom of Amsterdam and clusters of women indulging in a wild night with friends, all dip their toes in the pool.

Later, much later, they will roil and crash against the glass in a typhoon of wanton excess—of food, drink, drugs and sex—that never ceases to amaze me.

Or to infect me with its primal power.

Most women shoot me glances of pity if they look at me at all. I feel sorry for them, that they don’t understand. But some… some grin and nod.

A few go further, seeking my services so they can share in the rush for a brief time.

Men are more likely to notice my sincere yearning to please right away. All manner of them from young to old, rich to poor, thin to fat and virile to impotent appraise me with hungry eyes.

Cynics might say my killer curves, mile-high stilettos or long mane of platinum hair are responsible for their focused attention. I don’t buy that. I’m not the most attractive working girl on the block. But I’m one of the busiest.

Customers can sense I’m different than most. They recognize I’m here not because I have to be, but because I want to be. I absorb their stares before returning some of my own. The authority they grant me is intoxicating and addicting.

I love enticing a kindred spirit to my lair for both our enjoyment and my profit.

The hot, red lights of my booth, along the canal that slices through the heart of De Wallen, glint off my silver-sequined costume. What little of it there is, anyway. The warm air in the space caresses my bared skin each time my neighbors let someone in, or show them out.

Satisfaction guaranteed.

Theirs. And mine. Ours.

Every thrilling encounter is unique. Each partner creates a new experience as their quirks mix with mine. I can’t wait to see what tonight will bring. To adore what you do and make others happy in the process—while earning fists full of cash. What more could a woman ask of a career?

The worldwide economy might be in the crapper but my business is never slow. Hell, bad times make for peak seasons around here. And I’m glad to do my part.

Take this man, for example. I’ve watched him meander through the hordes, coming closer and closer to my window on every pass. He almost manages to appear casual—comfortable in a den of hedonism—and worldly.

Until I notice the way his hands are fisted in his pockets. And the outline of his monster erection, proclaiming his desire to join our forbidden display. I could hang a flag on that thing. He’s no veteran to my scene.

As quick as that, I know he’ll be mine. For a little while.

    Hi Jayne,

So glad you liked him 🙂 I’ll be sure to keep the guys going for the rest of the week so check back for more eye candy.

  2. I think it’s a fascinating premise, and I’ll look forward to reading it!

    • jaynerylon Says:

Thanks, Maggie. I think the most interesting part about it is the different types of customers she has and why each seeks her company.

  3. I do love a party!

Okay, you asked about f/f/m. I am a huge fan of menage. The assortment of genders isn’t an issue.

Your blurb is great! I need to know more…

    • jaynerylon Says:

Good to know, Donna! I was sort of afraid readers wouldn’t enjoy f/f/m as much as some of the other combos.

  4. Courtney S Says:

Sounds HOT!!! Can’t wait to read the rest.

    • jaynerylon Says:

Hopefully you won’t have to wait long, Courtney. I think we’re about to start edits so… end of summer would be my guess. 🙂

  5. dreabecraft Says:

    Okay I really want him!!!

That being said lol. I can’t wait to read the newest story. And the cover suits it so well!

  6. Cheryl S Says:

f/f/m doesn’t scare me away. When done in the right manner, it can be downright hot! It’s difficult to find f/f/m tho. Wonder why that is?

    • jaynerylon Says:

I’m guessing because most of the erotic authors I know are women so maybe it’s easier for them to write about guys?

  7. Nancy Gilliland Says:

This sounds good. Thanks for the peek. No, f/f/m doesn’t send me running, read some before (Kate Douglas’ Wolf Tales Books mostly) and it is fine if done right.

    • jaynerylon Says:

You all are making me nervous with the “done right” comments! You’ll have to tell me if Through My Window met your standards 🙂

As for f/f/m, I read them. I like reading menage stories,

    Great excerpt too.

  9. Another awesome excerpt Jayne. This character is tre interesting, would love to read her story. F/F/M is good for me, I like reading girl on girl =)

    • jaynerylon Says:

Thanks, Mai. I think Star’s story could go on for quite a while after the first time we meet her in Through My Window. In fact, I have a Christmas quickie planned. Fingers crossed!

  10. Enjoyed the eye candy. Mmm mmm mmm.

Good excerpt, it sounds like a cool premise for a book. I enjoy a good menage in any form. LOL

    • jaynerylon Says:

I’m a fan of candy of any variety (other than candy corn) but I’m with you on the pictures and the menages, too!

  11. Heather P Says:

Awesome excerpt!!! Can’t wait to get a chance to read this.

  12. Cathy MacDonald Says:

Fabulous writing, Jayne. I love menage, though I haven’t read a f/f/m storyline yet. Looks like yours is going to be my first, lol.

I have every confidence the f/f/m scene is just as intense, engrossing and HAWT as everything else you write!! Can’t wait to see it as an available buy! Announcements on Wed, huh?

Do we need to come by and comment every day to be entered to win?

Feel like posting a pic of the Jayne Rylon t-shirt? I wanna see…… :p

  18. Hi Jayne, I’m late to the party..or should I say early for Monday.
Anyway, you are kindred spirit….I love eating dessert before a meal, but don’t do it often enough. *g*

    Enjoyed the excerpt…quite the tease.

  19. Sherry S. Says:

As long as the story is well written I don’t care if it’s f/f/m. The picture is super hot and I love it.

  20. I’ve got to read it Jayne! None of your books have ever disappointed me! I have to say my very favorite ever is Dream Machine though! Love that book! 🙂
