TAG- you’re it!!

Okay, I’m so TOTALLY bloggy-ed out, today we’re going for the twisted version of “Write a story one line at a time”.

On Tuesday I posted snippets from my latest release. Today YOU have to post snippets from a book you’re reading. Open up, randomly point to the page and then attach the first full sentence or line of dialogue .

Example: I pick up the book laying beside me and open to a random page.

She fought back the need to gag, because there was nothing in her stomach to throw up.

After you’ve done a few I’ll come in and try to make them into sense. Those first two work together fairly well, but I’m sure it’s gonna get rough at times. ———THE MISSION——–

One dark and stormy night, we find the investigative team of International Heat hidden away in an apartment, their covert operation on the rocks:

“I think we wait until Kate gets a fix on their location.”

“Sounds fine to me,” Ethan said, but Randy noticed his eyes were taking in Sam’s hands resting on Randy’s shoulders, and Randy suspected he was flashing back to the scene he’d witnessed outside the limo. To seeing Randy and Sam emerge grim-faced and silent from what was just supposed to be a simple job.

Randy shrugged Sam away as he rose to his feet. He had to maintain his cover, and having Sam get all protective after his confession he wasn’t a shifter like the rest of them…that wasn’t the image he’d worked so hard to project. The aura of secrecy surrounding him as “Agent Fletcher” was undeniable, legendary even, and his life depended on the façade lasting.

On the makeshift desk she’d set up, Kate Alexander sat at her computer, scrolling through images of women bound in rope and chain, their faces twisted in ecstasy. “I see our friend has been up to his old tricks.”

Ethan gave Randy one final suspicious glance before moving into position to peer over her shoulder at the screen. “To make those types of markings, Jonas would have his claws manicured and honed to dangerous points. Don’t bother to deny it. He’s not playing nice anymore.”

“When has Jonas ever played nice?”

Ethan growled in disgust. “Considering he’s nothing but a man pretending to be a shifter, I don’t give a damn what kind of games he’s up to anymore, I just want to find him.”

“There’s nothing wrong with being human,” Sam chimed in. Randy swore silently and prayed the man would just keep his mouth shut.

Kate sighed. “I know that, Sam. And that’s not the issue here, if Ethan would just calm down. It’s common knowledge these women went willingly—they like the kink. Although, frankly, in my books no sex is good enough to put up with that amount of manipulation.”

“Humans always were the most pathetic of creatures.” Ethan’s deep mocking laugh settled in Randy’s ears and suddenly he couldn’t take it any longer.

He stalked across the room, and prepared himself for the battle about to explode. One knee came up into Ethan’s groin, and the man dropped to his knees in front of Randy. Ethan rolled to his back, biting his lip to keep from groaning. Randy bent closer, ignoring the shocked expression on the rest of the team as he whispered in Ethan’s ear.

“Next time keep your prejudices to yourself.”
