First and Last
This week Lila and Jambrea are running the show, so hold on to your butts.
Let’s start the week off with a little review of our awesomeness.
“‘Begin at the beginning,’ the kind said very gravely…”
I’ve been writing since 2005 and my first book came out January 1, 2007.
My first book: Forbidden
The first line from my first book:
“The twin moons hung low over the lavender sky.”
Blurb from my first book: The Land Between the Seas, a world in peril, is the responsibility of one woman. Cryessa, High Priestess of the land by birth and training, is strong and commanding, but locked in a life and death struggle to protect her people from the King, who bears a centuries old hate for the Temple.
Bound to her in slavery, prisoners of war and captives of fate, five men serve as her aides, her lovers, her slaves. One, however, is bound to her with something stronger, deeper, and utterly forbidden. Tamlohn, kidnapped and given to her in chains, chafes at his bindings, but continues to submit, in every way, because of his love and hers.
The political climate in the kingdom is steadily worsening. King Throlock, like his predecessors before him, rules the land only for his own pleasure. He has been continually thwarted by the efforts of the Priestess, while his multiple plots to overthrow or control the Temple have failed. Each failure has only made the King more petulant, vindictive, and determined to hurt those who hinder him, particularly the beloved and dedicated High Priestess.
Cryessa takes on the King and a centuries-old curse to protect her people, the temple, and the traditions she is entrusted to keep, no matter the cost to herself and her slaves. But, in a land steeped in ritual and magic, bound by rules that are indissoluble, can she protect herself from love —the highest form of treason?
My first book: Forever Guy
Genre: Sweet Romance (ROFL!)
The first line from my first book: Tired and dirty, Samantha Reynolds walked into her office.
Blurb from my first book: Samantha has a crush on Jack. Now he’s back in town and she needs to convince him he’s her forever guy.
There have been a lot of books in between. Close to 30 (maybe more) for Jambrea, and Lila can’t figure it out because some are out of print and being republished and that’s just confusing. Do those count as one book or two? What if they were expanded upon for re release?
“…’and go on till you come to the end: then stop.’” – Lewis Carroll
My upcoming release is the fifth book in the Monsters in Hollywood series, A Monster and a Gentleman
The first line:
“The street was deserted, bathed in the yellow glow of aging security lights.”
Blurb: The heat he brings isn’t movie magic. It’s real.
Cali knows exactly what will happen if her latest movie fails. It won’t just destroy her directing career and company, Calypso Productions. It might mean global war, and the extinction of an entire race of beings—the monsters.
The last thing she can afford is distraction in the form of a midnight-haired, caramel-skinned monster who can—literally—bring on the heat.
Seling enjoys humans, and not, as some have suggested, as a snack. As one of the stars of a movie that will allow his people to come out of hiding, he especially enjoys watching the movie’s intensely focused, human director.
After one particularly frustrating day on the set, Cali and Seling give in to a blistering night of pleasure. Seling wants more; Cali isn’t ready to risk her heart. But it all may become moot when someone leaks raw footage that could incite the very panic they’re trying to avoid.
And the only way to find the culprit is to unleash a monster so dangerous that it’s like bringing a nuclear bomb to a knife fight.
My upcoming release is an m/m Vampire story that I don’t have my cover for yet. It’s an MLR release in March!
First Line: Luke Shelton was fucked.
Luke Shelton was down on his luck. He’d gambled away the family money and he needed to get it back–fast. Being a vampire meal couldn’t be all that bad.
Bussoe needed something to keep him tied to the world or he was going to walk into his final death. Something about Luke sparked his interest.
Will the two be able to come to terms or will one of them die before the night is over?
