Cabin Fever cover comp v3

She’s got a new one out now, Cabin Fever.

Product Warnings:  Contains a convenient snowstorm that throws together two wounded characters who happen to be wildly attracted to each other, a drool-worthy hero, a shotgun-toting heroine, mattress sex, shower sex, couch sex, armchair sex, some light bondage, and a really good cup of hot cocoa.

Alisha:

I have a Twitter account. Occasionally, I get an email telling me someone is following me on it. I then commence feeling really really really bad, because I have never in my life tweeted a single thing. I’m still not quite sure how tweeting works, and why there are @ and # symbols all over the place.

You see, when I started writing, I was given some good advice to go reserve my name everywhere so I wouldn’t have to worry about a domain name or blog address or whatnot. With grand plans of promo, I decided to reserve a Twitter account as well.

Unfortunately, Twitter scares the pants off of me. Because, I know, once I break the seal and tweet something…I will never, ever stop.

As a master procrastinator, I feel as though the internet is one giant conspiracy to keep me from doing anything productive with myself. My current top favorite time sucks?

1)    E-mail. I have three e-mail addresses, for work, personal, and writing (alishawrites@gmail.com). It’s not e-mail reading that takes me so long, it’s the writing back. I’m wordy. As an aside, I do love hearing from readers. I consider that to be motivation, not procrastination.

2)    Facebook (www.facebook.com/alisharai). I get shaky if I don’t “like” something at least once a day.

3)    Blog reader. Why is it that reading about other people’s lives is so fascinating? Of course, I can justify some of them as industry blogs and therefore “critical” to my writing career, but I also like to visit cooking blogs, knitting blogs…sigh, too many to list.

4)    Hulu. Nuff said.

There are many other things like YouTube, etc., that I stick under the label of general tomfoolery. So, you see, I am extremely susceptible to the shiny that is the internet, and I fear Twitter’s hold on me if I give it a chance.

Of course, I could always just cancel my internet and do nothing but work…but then I think you’d find me curled whimpering in a corner somewhere. And that’s really not cool.

So what are your top time wasters?

  1. Hi Alisha! Welcome to the madness of IH.

My favorite time waster is Twitter. I love reading everyone’s tweets. I don’t always reply or jump in, but it’s fun. I even have famous people on there. Ryan Seacrest, Giuliana Rancic (from E!), Eliza Dushku, Nathan Fillion, etc… It’s a sickness…

And I love looking at Photoshop-related web sites. So many things to do in Photoshop! So many cool tricks! I need to learn them all, but my brain refuses to retain all that.

    Valerie :)

  2. Hi Valerie! This is why I’m scared of twitter…but, OMG, I love Nathan Fillion. I just got hooked on Castle. Am I the only author coveting that Writer kevlar vest of his?

Photoshop related stuff is not time wasting. That’s educational! I’m talking dancing cats here.

  3. Hey Alisha,

Loved cabin fever. I don’t know it’s necessarily considered a waste of time, at least not in my opinion. It use to be facebook and now, I just hang out updating my blog. Yes, there are other things that I could be doing, but what the hell. I’m having fun and isn’t that what counts?

  4. Hi J, glad to hear it! Yes, fun is an essential part of life. Whenever I start complaining that I get nothing done because I spend too much time on the internet, someone in my family suggests I get rid of it. That is, like, absolute nonsense. I could not live without my blogs! and facebook! and my email! How did we manage to survive without the internets for so long?

  5. Hi Alisha!
    Oh time wasters!
OH how I wish I could cut my internet at certain times of the day. Like right now? I am supposed to be making supper. What am I doing? Chatting at the Cafe (and winning books!).
So, yahoo groups, twitter, to a limited degree facebook, TV (we watch wayyyy to much tv, and if there is nothing on tv, we put in a movie). Yeah. it’s no wonder my house is a pigsty.

p.s. Cabin Fever? oh yeah! Excellent read!

  6. Hi Alisha!

The Internet is the biggest time user of all. “waster” makes it sound like a negative thing. lol There is so much to see!

Congrats on your new release! I LOVED LOVED LOVED Glutton for Pleasure. It’s a permanent member of my reread pile.

  7. Natasha, if you’re winning books, it’s kind of like you’re working, right? :) . I’m glad you finally read and liked Cabin Fever.

Joy, I am so happy you liked Glutton. It holds a special place in my heart.
I hope you get a chance to read Cabin Fever. Oh, my next release, a novella, takes place in the same town as Glutton. There’s a quick cameo in it :) . I’ll be announcing more about that soon!

  8. I loved yoour comments. It’s nice to know that someone else feels the way I do. LOL Facebook is my big time user, well besides email, my yahoo groups and just browsing for new books and my favorite authors., not to mention the full time job and my family. I also have a MySpace and Twitter account, but just haven’t seemed to get the hang of either one. I also don’t really understand all the @ on Twitter, but confess that I haven’t taken the time (not sure where I would find it) to learn.

  9. Free mature porn and mature sex videos. granny sex, sex with grandma, young fucking old, mature orgy, mommie and young guy, mummie has sex dude, mature lady fucked, milf hardcore fucked –
