Hump day blues!
The first thing I thought when the little reminder went off to tell me to blog today was not a good thought. Nope, I’ll be honest, I thought not another thing for me to do! (yes, that was said in my best whinging voice) There are so many things going on in my life right now that I’m feeling a little overwhelmed and frustrated at my lack of writing time. What’s even more frustrating is that when I find time I can’t get motivated or I’m writing crap! I’m so close to the end of my wip I can taste it but do you think I can be bothered? No, I’d rather surf the net, read emails or chat with Bree and Donna (the two behind Moira Rogers) on twitter. Bree even offered me an incentive to write today. She sent me an ARC of Sanctuary’s Price, the third book in their Red Rock Pass series. The book isn’t out until October 27 but I have my hot little hands on it! Woot! I lovedĀ Cry Sanctuary and Sanctuary Lost and I’m really looking forward to this one because I’ve got a soft spot for the hero Dylan, now if I could just get that wip finished so I could read it….
So what do you do to get yourself motivated? I’ve managed 1k since Bree sent me Sanctuary’s Price so I think my incentive is working but is there something else I could do to get me going? I know I can crank the words out quicker than I am but I’m just not feeling it. How do I turn the real world shit off so I can turn on the fake world shit? Any advice would be appreciated as there are a couple of people at International Heat waiting to read Coyote Home and Mari’s getting a little mouthy about it. Luckily Viv’s away or she’d be getting vocal about it too. *grin*

If you think you’ve got a soft spot for Dylan, you should see our editor. LOL She’s been asking after his story since we contracted the first book.
Glad you’re looking forward to it.

Awww, I am SO GLAD there are people out there with a soft spot for Dylan! I know he’s not the alpha-est badass around, but he’s totally my favorite. I just hope other people are gonna love him as much as I do!
Now remember…write first, THEN read.

Oy! He’s better than an alpha. He knows he’s not big and tough but he does what has to be done anyway!

To get myself motivated – odd, but true, I watch I, Robot. There’s something about Will Smith…and Sonny’s voice (the titular robot) that just gets my muse jumping
(Yes, I really am that weird)

What’s weird is I love you anyway. LOL
Usually reading gets me motivated but that’s not working at the moment either. *sigh*

Loretta I’m a sucker for the non-alpha guys. Mind you I’ll take an alpha any day as well. I’m greedy that way. *grin*

Sheesh, RC, I wish I could offer wise words of wisdom. But when real life interferes, I am crap at finding motivation.
My words of wisdom?
Relax, look after yourself and do what needs doing. The words will come.
Oh, and the other thing I want to say?
FINISH THE %$#@ing BOOK ALREADY!
(See? No pressure. Just relax, and the words will come.)
