WOW! A Double Header release for IH authors!

In a wonderful twist of fate, Both Rhian and Vivian have releases today!!

*sniffle, sniffle* I made the mistake of reading through Viv’s part of this joint post. *wipes away tears* I did kind of kick her butt on Rocky Mountain Heat but that’s only because I love the premise and I’m kind of partial to cowboys and oh damn this book is full of them! *grin*

So Singapore Fling, well I live in Singapore so I know all about the steamy climate and the famous Raffles Hotel and its Long Bar, home of the Singapore Sling cocktail. Um, yes the book was inspired by a drink. More than half of this story was written while I was on my extrended trip to the US earlier in the year so it’s close to my heart for that reason as well as being my hometown (for now). The idea behind the Passport To Passion Collection is to deliver short hot reads that take place all over the world. I think our journey is off to a good start.

Rocky Mountain Heat. The story that let me meet so many people that are now so important in my life.

I still remember hesitating as I went to hit send. I was asking a total stranger for help with my synopsis, and being very nosy at the same time.

I’m good at nosy.

And Jess Dee reacted like the perfect lady she is. Sent me information, offered to help me. Read my rookie synopsis and even told me she couldn’t get the plot idea out of her mind.

Of course the story doesn’t stop there. Later my new friend Rhian Cahill (yes, the same wonderful lady that I get to share a release day with!) did a line by line look through to help me polish it up pretty. I didn’t get in the first place I subbed–and that’s when Tracy West stepped in. The Acquisitions Editor at Liquid Silver was amazing in her feedback. Gave me clear direction on what the story still needed and a month later, Rocky Mountain Heat was on it’s way to publication.

The moral of the story? Writing may be a solitary activity but it shouldn’t be done alone. Find people you trust to read your work. To poke you in the butt and MAKE you get better. I love Rocky Mountain Heat.  I hope I’ll keep improving as a writer as the years go by, but I can’t imagine having a story with more impact on my life than this one, because it’s brought me some forever friends.

We at International Heat really didn’t want the summer fun to end so we’ve kidnapped, oops, I mean twisted the arm of….  Damn, can’t say that either? Okay, well because we’re all such FANTASTIC people we’ve got crowds banging on the door trying to get into the sacred fold. Don’t believe me? *sigh* All right, fine. The lure of our secret Warrior cave proved too much and we’re pleased, excited, thrilled to welcome a new International Heat member to the fold.

In keeping with the international theme, Lexxie comes from the land down under. Australia. That makes three Aussie’s roaming the halls around here now. Lexxie brings more heat to the mix, her stories are so f***en HAWT! you need a fire extinguisher on hand before you turn the first page.
